Lord Bo posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 9:19 p.m. @ firetiger - Not sure what an ssbb game is. Sorry. All I have at the moment (just moved) is MW2, PURE, and Lego Batman (second two aren't mine) Chase Holbrook posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 6:22 p.m. @Chase Holbrook Thx now i got to start to practice. btw do you have an ssbb game maybe we could battle. firetiger posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 3:40 p.m. @firetiger - There usually aren't age limits. Unless the game is rated M for Mature. Then you might have to have a parent's permission to compete. Chase Holbrook posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 4:38 a.m. I'll make a recruitment thread explaining all the questions you have asked. Chase Holbrook posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 4:38 a.m. I norm agree with dkArmy but you need to get on game battles and get your name out there. Lots of MLG pros are well known in there game and sponsored, T2 appeared on Dr. Pepper cans all over the country. Sometimes you can find tournys on craigslist. Most games have a forum that revolves around that game that would be another great place to start. Check with gamestop employees for other options. On top of that if you can just travel to big tournys and events like PAX, E3, EVO ect. Hope this helps ~blackmacrokid blackmacrokid posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 2 a.m. haha it worked, thats funny. I might consider looking up your team whenever I get my system fixed. A 2 week evaluation process seems necessary but a little goofy. How serious do you take things and what sort of competition do you play against? also if there is nobody on to play with at certain times would you take offense if I were to join other teams for other games or even the same game, probably not for the same competition area for I like to do gamebattles and stuff myself. Lord Bo posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 12:25 a.m. we can log on with our facebook accounts? is that what that connect button is for... time to investigate! KillerDNA posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 12:17 a.m. @Chase Holbrook Ok so i can't join your team yet but wat about individual tourneys is there an age limit? firetiger posted on Aug. 25, 2010, 12:05 a.m. PS, this is dkArmyRanger. I just signed in on my facebook Chase Holbrook posted on Aug. 24, 2010, 11:46 p.m. @firetiger - You must be atleast 16 to try out for our team. You must post an application on our forum, which will start your recruitment process. It takes 2 weeks of being a recruit before you hear whether you have become a member or not. During those 2 weeks, you will be evaluated on your in game skill, activity level, communication, maturity, and overall love of gaming. I will most likely be your recruit evaluator (I am the only recruit evaluator as of now). Chase Holbrook posted on Aug. 24, 2010, 11:45 p.m. Whenever a big name title is released, like madden, COD, or Halo, local gamestops have tournaments it seems. They just recently had a madden one. These are local tournaments but they are held nationwide. Be on the look out for Halo and COD tournys coming up in a few months Austin702 posted on Aug. 24, 2010, 2:13 p.m. @dkArmyRanger thx for the tips im gonna talk to gamestop and practice for a super smash bros. tourneys. Oh btw you said i could join your team, but do you have to be a certain age to join a tourney. firetiger posted on Aug. 24, 2010, 11:41 a.m. @firetiger - Another way to get known, is to join a team that is already sponsored. Such as my team. Then you compete, win some tourneys, and your name gets thrown around. You just need to do things that get you seen. That make people say "wow, this kid IS good." Btw, good luck in whatever route you choose! dkArmyRanger posted on Aug. 23, 2010, 11:34 p.m. @KillerDNA - Thanks man. That was the first mature reply I've seen from you. Looking at another persons point of view and evaluating it. Thank you. dkArmyRanger posted on Aug. 23, 2010, 11:32 p.m. haha dont listen to me, I was just throwing out suggestions. they say the internet is where its at, besides ive seen tons of people form gamebattles and such get in the big time deals. but i guess ti doesnt help that hundres of thousands of people are doing the same thing and theyre all mostly people who just play a single game and figur out all the hotspots and key strategies to beat almost any scenario, whereas gamestop and stuff can bring out local town heroes and get you into national stuff. but either way will work you just have to try them all and eventually one has to work right. KillerDNA posted on Aug. 23, 2010, 8:49 p.m. @firetiger - Not to start anything. But don't listen to KillerDNA. Gamebattles doesn't get anyone known. MLG tourneys don't get you known either. Do the smart thing, talk to someone working at Gamestop or any local game store. See if they are holding any tournaments soon. If you watch the show, some people have titles such as "Multiple local tournament wins" or something of that nature. This is exactly what you should do. Get known, by winning local tournaments. Don't go the Gamebattles route, because over the internet teams don't get known. Sorry if I'm repeating myself. Just want to make it clear what I'm trying to say. dkArmyRanger posted on Aug. 23, 2010, 8:10 p.m. I'm known around here in my town. We have a store called "play N' trade" They are cool, and have tons of tournys. CHASE1494 posted on Aug. 23, 2010, 7:39 p.m. nah dont really get lucky, you have to get recognized, either that or the classic know the right person. but what you should try doing is Gamebattles, lots of MLG tournys there and all you ahve to do is be a great player with a great team in many different hit games. thats probably the easiest as another would probably be the WCG site, havent looked into it enough cause my xbox fried (RAGE!!!) I also heard about this place called KSI global from some random guy from MW2, said they have hundred thousand people or something and a few of their members went onto big MLG tournys. you can also look into gamestop or other local game stores for information they should be jam packed with juicy details. KillerDNA posted on Aug. 23, 2010, 5:38 p.m. Im a gamer and i watch the show. When the names of the players come up how did they get there championships? Like where can i find tekken tournaments, super smash bros. tournaments? where can i find out where and when they are, do I look under gamestop or get lucky and find one online. firetiger posted on Aug. 23, 2010, 3:02 p.m. Displaying 1 - 24 of 24
