Very Dissapointing Show overall

conditions are conditions. true gamers can adapt. and luck is part of the game. of course you can say it's unfair that Justin was eliminated because of a racing game. Or Rachel was eliminated because of Pac Man. Or the sports gamers were eliminated before playing a sports game. Or the rhythm gamers were eliminated without getting to play a rhythm game. But this is the best overall gamer and you have to be able to adapt. Justin should've practiced Forza. Forza (or some other racing game) is always going to be in the competition. He even said himself that he knew if one game would be his downfall coming into the season, it would be Forza. So he should've practiced Forza at some point in his life. there's a lot of genres I'm good at, but fighting games would be my downfall. I just never got it. so it would just be a matter of time when I would lose whether they had a fighting game in the beginning or a fighting game in the end. the only saving possibility is that you somehow end up not being the worst at your worst genre and they never play that genre again. like if they had street fighter IV in the first episode and I ended up second to last and they never played another fighting game for the rest of the season. that'd be awesome. the only fault I have with any competitive reality show is the team aspect. teams often hide weak players. if you're on the winning team, even if you played horribly, you're protected. and if you get teamed up with someone strong, they can mask your problems. Ryan was almost saved by Kat who almost singlehandedly won against Caesar and Yaz. Kat was a 1-woman wrecking crew in that PC shooter. It would've sucked to see Caesar go just because Ryan picked Kat. Ryan should've had to defend himself without any help.

im very dissapointed they left out mw2, theres a chance itll be on tonight, but if not thats a huge let down considering how big the game was. the gauntlet this year wasnt as good as last years, and tbh i dont think the gamers were nearly as good either. but it is still fun to watch imo.

LOL @ "It's like they wanted Justin out" Ever see season 1? There was a racing game and a shooting game both in the gauntlet in season 1 as well. I'm pretty sure the final 2 will have a shooter/fighter/sport type game like season 1, we'll see. Sorry Justin didn't cut it through the racing. Whether or not you think it's fair, ALL of them had the same disadvantage.

I had no idea what the Gauntlet was going to be like, and I also think the twists they added for the car race was dumb. As far as Justin, even without any twist, there would've been a very good chance of him being eliminated anyway just because driving was his weakness. btw, how many times did Jake call Kat a b*tch during the car racing?

Why are people trashing the show over JWong getting eliminated? It IS supposed to be a competition. It's called "WCG Ultimate Gamer", not "The Justin Wong Show Starring Justin Wong". On the other hand, yeah I do get disappointed too when people I don't like outlast the people that I do root for on reality shows. (Might not be the case here, unless Jerk- er, Snake- oops, I mean Jake ends up somehow outlasting Kat, and I'm rooting for Kat. The ultimate example of a reality star I hated going far would be on Survivor All-Stars, when that dirtball Boston Rob Mariano outlasted Rupert and made it to 2nd place on the show...)

I agree with WCGwatcher also. The Gauntlet was a huge let down for me too. It still amazes me that they had the racing game KNOWING that Justin couldn't drive. It's like they wanted Justin out.

Would have to agree with WCGwatcher. I wouldn't call it disappointing, but I do think that it doesn't really showcase the gamer's specific talents as much as a lot of us believe it should. I talk about this in my post "Suggestion for Season 3", but I'm glad to see it is being addressed elsewhere too. I think the twists help level the playing field for the contestants tho, rather than just provide "wows" or "lols". but I do think perhaps the gauntlet twists this season were a little OD lol.. poor Justin

If you want to watch pure straight up one-on-one gaming, your gonna have to go to your local tournys. A national show is not going to be the equivilent of a bunch of friends sitting at home watching one guy play through resident evil.

The word "Show" is important. It's for entertainment value. That's all it is. Appeal to as many people as you possibly can. Most people don't want to watch kids race cars in a video game against each other regularly. Throw in straight jackets and a "lol" factor and more people are attracted.

This is the first time I watched the ultimate gamer. I really didn't expect too much and was going to watch just for the heck of it. The premise is to find the "ultimate gamer." I will gloss over the fact that I believe the isolation challenges a lot of the time don't reflect gaming skill in their respective game. I will also gloss over the fact that real life challenges because in the end, the head to head determines who's better in that respective game to a close enough extent. The gauntlet episode a huge let down because you had people put on straight jackets, handcuffs, and had rotating mirrors. How does playing in a straight jacket determine if you have greater skill than the the others in a racing game? How does having them handcuffs do that? How do mirrors? I understand there needs to be a "wow" and cool factor for the show but it totally goes against the premise of the show which is the find the best all around gamer. Also I find it interesting that there was a shooter in the mix in the gauntlet when 5 of the six players specialize in shooters. Didn't seem pretty thought out to me and pretty skewed (if justin managed to survive the driving game). Those points just made the show lose what little credibility it had left with me. Just my two cents.
